Class today

Class this morning was fun as always, despite only being six ladies (2 hiding on this pic!).  The technique I demonstrated today was all about getting colour onto your outline stamped images.  We used the lovely Storybook Friends stamp set and just used the cat and the dog for two cards and one matching gift box.
Card number one was made using watercolour paper and coloured using aqua painters and ink from classic stampin' pads squeezed into the lid.  Tangerine Tango is the base card colour and we added accents of Basic Grey.  The matching gift box was made using the Fancy Favor Bigz XL die and we made two boxes; one in Tangerine Tango and one in First Edition DSP which we glued slightly looser so it slides over and forms a lid.  A matching tag was made to finish this off.
The dog card was coloured using Stampin' Write markers and a blender pen which just softens the ink.  The image was stamped first onto very vanilla card stock and punched using circle and scalloped circle punches.  Some texture was added by ruffling a piece of ribbon onto the card and securing it using sticky strip, this is a nice way of adding some soft texture to a masculine card without adding bows!
